SUBSONUS is a digital archive for Indonesia’s underground scene — with a focus on Jamaican sounds and their derivatives. Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, Jungle, and everything that came out of that island.
This scene exists. It’s been around for a long time. But the documentation is scattered — in forgotten WhatsApp groups, on broken hard drives, in photos that were never uploaded. SUBSONUS is here to bring it all together into one proper place.
